The Media is Dead, Long Live the Media!
Posted on April 25th, 2009 1 commentMay 1st-3rd – new media gathering on Raven’s Ait Island.
The imminent commercial collapse of mainstream media, and its replacement by PR-driven news, threatens the journalistic integrity and independence necessary for a free society. The next generation could be without the 4th Estate. And new media has not yet realized its potential to fill this space.
Old media and new media need to gather together, sharing skills, resources and experience to create the media of the future.

Spring Equinox @ Ravens Ait Eco Island
Posted on March 21st, 2009 No commentsSpring Equinox @ Ravens Ait Eco Island on the Thames
From Today till early next week please come and enjoy yourselves on a wonderful Island in the Thames with friends and family.
Over the course of the next four or five days there will be workshops to participate in, films to watch, discussions to be had and music to listen to.
During the day and evening the Island will be an open gathering to discuss the future of this space of common land.
On the Island there are gardens, meeting areas, healing spaces, workshop rooms, kitchens, dinning rooms, central fire.
Historically Ravens Ait has featured heavily in the foundation of the demoracracy that decides what this country does in the future. (ref Treaty of Lambeth 1217.)
From the 12th Century this has been a Island used by Kings, Queens and Commoners alike for gatherings, weddings and used by local villagers and people traveling along the Thames to and from London.
Only minutes from Surbition station and a nice walk along the river from Kingston Upon Thames, part of Ravens Ait is being used as a Eco-Conferance which supports many diverse areas within the Green Movement.
